sploosh! was founded in 2022 out of a love for literature and the arts, and a desire to share that passion with Singaporeans, with a focus on Singapore literature. Since our beginnings, we have been led by youths and guided by the principles of diversity and accessibility. We also have a particular fondness for the aural medium.
We strive to provide a riverine flow of podcasts (readings, discussions, interviews), magazines, commentary, and events (performances and workshops).
Mission
- Audiences: a) To make Singapore literature more readily accessible and engaging for Singaporeans; and b) To build a community of live audiences
- Artists: To create space for and support the development of diverse Singaporean writers
- Culture: To contribute to the development of the local literary culture and the archival of its heritage

Hao Yang oversees the direction of sploosh!. His favourite poem is Rilke’s Archaic Torso of Apollo.
Bryce handles administrative tasks and publicises events, podcast episodes, and more for sploosh!. He finds peace in Proust.
Aqeel produces bite-sized video content that engages and educates our audiences.

Literary Editor / Anurak Saelaow is a Singaporean poet and editor of sploosh!. His work has been published or is forthcoming in Cha: An Asian Literary Journal, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Quarterly Literary Review Singapore, Cultural Weekly, The Kindling, Ceriph, and elsewhere.
